The family and friends of 4 year old Emily Bott are uniting to raise money to aid in her continuous battle against blindness.

On October 25, 2007 Emily was born into our beautiful world, but it was a world she could not see. She was diagnosed with Peters Anomaly, an extremely rare eye disease that causes blindness. Her eyes were clouded with a bluish grey haze that blocked her vision. Even with the most advanced technology possible, the doctors could not see in through the cloudiness to examine the rest of her eye, which meant she couldn't see out through them either.

At the tender age of only 3 months old, Emily underwent the first of what would become many surgeries to help restore her eyesight. She was litterally given the "gift of sight" through a cornea transplant in her right eye. At 5 months old, she had a second transplant in her left eye.

Sadly she developed Pediatric Glaucoma and endured endless complications that lead to the rejection of the donor tissue and her transplants failed...her vision was in jeopardy again.

Over the past 4 years she has undergone 19 surgeries, including valve implants in each eye to lower her eye pressure, a cataract removal and artificial lens implant and 2 additional corneal transplants.

Her fight against blindness will be a life long struggle for Emily. She will be on medication for the rest of her life, and will always have the risk of losing her eyesight that she has fought so hard for.

She is currently being treated for an infection that caused part of her cornea to deteriorate, leaving a scar on her left eye. And she has also developed another cataract, this time in her right eye. Both of these complications will require surgery to correct, which could lead to a 3rd attempt at a transplant in her left eye.

With traveling to another state to receive treatment, the high costs of prescriptions, doctors office and hospital bills, travel and medical expenses have become an extroidinary financial burden for her parents to bear. Any and all donations will help offset this burden.

With your donation, you will be helping ensure that Emily continues to receive the best care possible. Please help keep Emily out of the dark and let her days always be filled with Sunshine...
