Dearest Friends and family ~
A short tale about my big sis Shawna.
Known as the generous independent business owner who is the Diva of flowers to the Bay Area. And one who cares more for others then herself.
This is a sharing of Shawna's journey... She has been the samurai warrior on a quest to a new beginning... God has blessed us beyond words and it would have been unbearable without all of you...
In 2008 Shawna and I, Darren (younger brother) were diagnosed with HCM Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy a genetic heart disease inherited from our Father Fumio Joe Futagaki. After years of Shawna having all the conditions that come with HCM. She was admitted to her amazing team of Doctors, Surgeons and Nurses at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto California on November 1, 2012 for having heart failure. Her team of doctors immediately figured she would need to be put on the heart transplant list as an in-patient recipient. Knowing it would be so bitter sweet and did not know when a donor heart would be available and or viable for her, we started the paper work. After going through a tortuous couple of months we received the call at midnight of January 5th 2013 that they have a viable donor heart. January 5th is now Shawna's 2nd birth date. As of February 15, 2013 she has gone through a tough Post transplant. Shawna and her immediate family (caregivers) still have a long road towards her healthy heart recovery and would like to thank all the friends and family with all the love and support that has been given from day 1 when she was admitted to the hospital.
Blessings, Love and Light...
