This fund will be used to aid Joni in his long and painful recovery. He alread lost his right foot and they are trying to save his left leg

On July 28th, 2012 Juan Manuel Funes was seriously injured while on the Trinity River in Riverside Texas wakeboarding with family and friends. He was struck by the propeller of the boat he was on, amputating his right leg at the ankle, and seriously damaging the left leg.

He was retrieved from the water by his friends and cousin Juan Carlos Mondelli, and placed on a life flight to Memorial Herman Hospital in Houston Texas.

Joni was here on vacation from his home country of Argentina when all of this took place. The plan by his medical team was to stabilize him well enough to make a life flight back to Argentina to begin reconstruction. However, due to hurricane Ernesto the flight was cancelled. They cannot wait to begin reconstruction and must do it here meaning he has to stay for the entire process consisting of 4-6 weeks of surgeries.

He will have many expenses that he cannot afford because his out of country insurance does not cover most of his treatment.

All of the donations will go to help Joni with his long recovery of one amputation and possibly two if they cannot save his severely lacerated left leg. He is going through reconstructive surgery now, and we will update everyone on his condition.

Joni is a charismatic and loving person. He has a big heart, and has always put his family and friends before anyone else. He is with good spirits and optimistic. This challenge will not keep him down, and we would like your support to make sure that at least most of his recovery bills are taken care of.
