The family and friends of Garret and Carissa Elliott are uniting to help with the costs associated with Garret's recent accident.

On May 23, 2011 Garret Elliott of Chadron, Nebraska was involved in a serious ATV accident while at work doing what he loves.
Garret was out sorting cows and had one cut back on him. She tripped and hit the front of the 4 wheeler causing it to take flight. It flipped twice in the air and twice on the ground and then landed on him.
He was taken to a neighboring hospital by the flight for life team in critical condition.
Garret suffered a concussion, a black eye, two broken ribs, a puncture to his right lung, a crushed vertebrae, completely torn ligaments on both sides of his back, a pulled tendon in his toe, and a bruised shoulder and knee.
His spinal surgery fused four vertebrae together from T11 to L3. The T12 vertebrae no longer exists. He has two 5 inch rods on either side of his spine, a plate, and a bone graph holding the back together. He has nearly 70 staples on his back. He also had a punctured lung caused by 2 broken ribs. It is healing on its own, but caused some trouble while in the hospital as he could not maintain oxygenation.
By all reports he should not have ever been able to walk again. He was nicknamed Superman while in the hospital and that has stuck.
The recovery process will take nearly a year. Garret is a hard working man that rarely asks for anything from anyone else, but this situation is different. The family is in need of financial assistance to pay for current and upcoming medical bills as they were uninsured at the time of the accident. Medical bills are expected to reach the hundreds of thousands and will be the sole responsibility of the family. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
