The friends and family of Zoe are uniting to help raise money for her family to offset the financial burden of her upcoming cancer treatment

Zoe's story began in February 2009 at the age of four. While riding in the car, Zoe began having a headache followed by vomiting. The following day her doctor, who just happened to be her grandfather, discovered an abdominal mass. A renal ultrasound and CT scan confirmed a large mass. Shortly after, Zoe was sent to Arkansas Children's Hospital where further testing revealed neuroblastoma. This was such a shock to all of Zoe’s family and friends. She seemed like a perfectly healthy and energetic four year old girl. How could she be so sick?

Over the next year, Zoe underwent six rounds of induction chemotherapy, surgery to remove the tumor, consolidation chemotherapy, stem cell transplant, radiation and six rounds of Accutane. What an incredible journey for such a little girl. But, Zoe overcame each and every obstacle beautifully and finally defeated Buddy Boy (her tumor named after her arch nemesis and Aunt’s dog). She has been such an inspiration to her thousands of supporters!

In January of 2010, Zoe was able to attend school with her fellow kindergarteners and start to get back into a semi-normal way of life. Her hair has started growing back thick and curly, just like her Daddy. She turned 6 in June and was able to visit Disney World and even meet Sleeping Beauty. How exciting! And she became a big first grader just last month! Life was great again.

Sadly, that much desired normal life came to a halt on September 13th when they detected an abnormality on a routine CT scan. On September 16th, Zoe went back to ACH where a special scan confirmed recurrent neuroblastoma. This has been absolutely devastating news for Erin, Ben and their family and friends.

On September 29th, Zoe and her family will meet with the experts on relapse and refractory NB at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, better known as CHOP. There are treatments being researched there that show great promise in advanced and recurrent NB.

We won’t know any plans until after this consultation, but we do know this will be another long and difficult journey for Zoe. Friends and family of the Goss family ask that everyone help us support this amazing family by praying for them daily. We also want to help support them by easing the financial burden that unfortunately accompanies major illness, especially when both hard working parents have to take off to help comfort their 6 year old little girl while she is going through such grueling treatments.

Zoe is a remarkable little girl with an unbreakable spirit and an immeasurable amount of family and friends that love her. Please support Zoe as she battles to triumph over Buddy Boy one final time! And please help us raise money to help offset the expenses that will accumulate during this process including medical bills, airfare and other travel expenses.

Thank you all so much for taking the time to read about Zoe and her amazing fight. All prayers and any donation amount are greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

The friends and family of Zoe Goss
