Ryan Stewart Medical Fund
The Stewart Family thanks you for helping us raise funds to pay for the medical costs from Ryan's neck injury!
On 23 March 2011, my nephew Ryan Stewart made a diving play at home plate while catching for the Fallbrook High School JV baseball team.
He made the out.....and he fractured two vertebrae in his neck.
We are so thankful his dad, Dale, was at the game and his 30 years of fire service experience told him to immobilize Ryan despite the initial belief that he wasn't seriously injured.
That decision along with the superb medical care Ryan received at every step made all the difference in his life.
Ryan underwent 4 hrs of surgery on his neck. His C5 vertebrae was so severely damaged it had to be removed. His C4 through C6 vertebrae were fused with a titanium plate. After 2 days in ICU and 2 more in the hospital.....Ryan WALKED OUT!
Now that the crisis is past, it is time for healing and recovery. But the reality of the financial burden due to the current and future medical bills creates added stress for his family to endure.
Ryan is a great kid. Dale is both a great father and giving member of his community. So many people want to help them in their time of need and this is a great way.
We all understand that times are difficult so on behalf of the entire Stewart family, I thank you for helping us by donating to our medical fund. Every single dollar will make a difference so please know we greatly appreciate your generosity.
