Champlain Valley Search and Rescue K9 Unit which is located on the beautiful AuSable River in upstate New York recently suffered over 50,000 dollars in damages from the recent floods caused by Hurricane Irene.

During this storm CVK9 members were deployed to different areas of New York State to help those in need. But while they were deployed they didn't realize until arriving back home that their command trailer, radio equipment, swift water rescue equipment and their training facility was badly damaged.

So the members of CVK9 is now on a mission to rebuild so we can still be a strong asset to people in their time of need.

Champlain Valley search and rescue K9 Unit is specialized with the working dog and support personnel to search for and rescue lost or missing persons.

We are an active Technical Rescue K9 Team that are specifically trained to assist with land and water searches, as well as natural or man made disasters in which people may be trapped or missing.

Champlain Valley K9 has made a strong commitment to our community by being an active mutual aid service to the Clinton, Essex and Warren Counties Office of Emergency Services. We are also an active team of the Adirondack Regional Technical Task Force which incorporates several local Fire Departments and the NYS DEC Rangers.

If this doesn't seem busy enough we assist the TRI County Animal Rescue Team (CART) to help with animal rescues when the time arises and lastly we offer educational programs for adults and youths to help gain necessary confidence and leadership skills in the wilderness.
