The family and friends of Chris Byrum are uniting to raise money to help with medical costs and related expenses not covered by insurance.

***UPDATE***
After two weeks in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit, he has been moved to a long-term rehabilitation center for very intensive physical and occupational therapy. He is expected to be there for five or six weeks.

His medical care team marvels at his strength and resolve to regain his full abilities to move, speak, see and feel. His family and friends are thrilled to see that he has maintained his sense of humor and that he has expressed his deep love and appreciation for them. We praise God for the incremental improvements he is making every day.
***UPDATE***

On Monday, November 28, 2011, Chris Byrum was in a bad motorcycle accident. He sustained damage to his neck and spine, face, as well as a broken shoulder, punctured lung, broken ribs and more. Chris has undergone several surgeries on his neck, spine, and most recently on his shoulder as well as facial reconstruction, and his body has reacted very well to all of them.

We praise the Lord that Chris is breathing on his own and has been responsive, only able to ask “what happened?”, but he has opened his eyes and moved his limbs. His heart rate and blood pressure increase when friends and family are visiting him - he knows we are here for him!

Chris survived a battle with cancer last year and, as you can imagine, this new, unexpected crisis, especially during the holiday season, will take quite a toll on him and his family, emotionally and financially (they are also in the process of moving). He is the sole-provider for his family and in the battle of his life right now. Mounting expenses are a worry we would like to take away from his family.

Thank you all for your donations, support and most importantly prayers. We do believe in miracles and we pray for more each day.

God bless each and every one of you!
