Fighting hard for our Rachael, to raise awareness, money and support!!!! JOIN US!!! YOU KNOW YOU WANNA!

Do you know what it feels like to walk uphill blindfolded and backwards? Rachael Sax Kocon does. Even before she was born our Rachael has been a fighter. Her mother abused drugs and alcohol habitually and disregarded her health with reckless behavior. Becuase of this, at birth, she weighed only 5 pounds. Doctors advised her loving adoptive parents to "pass" on the frail sickly child but they refused. They took her home and loved her with all their might. After Rachaels adopted father tragically passed away, her mother Jean was left alone, and raised her with her own biological daughter Kara. They faced many challenges both mental and physical but perservered because of a strong family bond. But nothing could prepare them for what happened this past month.

Rachael had back pain. She attributed the pain to her work as a home health aide worker. So she took advil, used a heating pad and even tried yoga. But the pain was stubborn and would not subside. Actually it was getting worse, so her sister Kara insisted she see a pain specialist immediately. After an examination and an MRI, she was directed to go in haste and discuss the results with her own doctor. And when she did, she heard the words every family dreads to hear. "You have cancer".

Rachael has stage IV cancer. It has invaded her kidneys, bombarded her blood stream, assaulted her breasts and is raveging her brain.

Rachael is at war and we do so solemly swear to fight for her. We will fight for her health. We will fight for her well being and her happiness. We will fight for her eight year old daughter. We will fight for assistance with her medical bills to ease the stress on her family. We will fight for the necessity of early screening for adopted children. We will fight for more cancer research.

We will fight cancer with Rachael. Fight with us.
