My family and I are raising money to cover the cost of medical bills I have accumulated due to the lack of insurance. Pray. Share. Give.

I was in a freakish pool accident on July 8th of this year. I didn’t dive in, but simply jumped in to grab a water balloon. This is why it was so freakish. I didn't hit my head or anything out of the ordinary. But the result was devastating. I had broken three vertebrae in my spine (c3, c4, and c5). I knew something was wrong right away because my left side went almost completely numb and I had to struggle not to drown. I'm very thankful my girlfriend was watching nearby and got a bad feeling. She asked, "You okay?". It took all I had to keep my head above water to reply, "No!". She immediately jumped in and helped me to the side of the pool. I went to Mercy Hospital in Fairfield right away and was then diagnosed. They transferred me to the University Hospital in Cincinnati were they have a special unit for these types of injuries. I spent 4 days in the I.C.U. as they poked, prodded, and took X-rays and MRI's. Luckily for me they decided not to perform surgery. They put me in a Halo device instead that I will have to wear for 8-12 weeks and a lot of rehab to follow. As a result, I have accumulated tremendous medical bills that are exceeding well over $50,000 so far. Due to the nature of my occupation, I couldn't afford insurance and I'm struggling to pay for the bare necessities of life (medicine, food, rent, utilities...ect.). I am reaching out to anyone that may be able to help me and my family out. We are just simple hardworking Americans trying to make it through the tough times a lot of fellow Americans are experiencing also. If you can afford to give, that would be great. If not, a simple prayer would go along way too. Thank you all that have helped out so far. And thank you for taking the time to read about my story. Very sincerely, Michael Ruhl
