Every little bit helps. Please donate what you can to help Kelly during this difficult time.
BGG member, Kelly Beck, was recently diagnosed with an inoperable form of brain cancer. For those of you fortunate enough to know Kelly and her husband, “Piratemon” Wayne, no doubt you’ve been amazed by the gracious manner in which they’ve chosen to handle this challenging chapter of their young lives. Confronted with a very difficult diagnosis, Kelly and Wayne quickly determined to face it head-on with life-affirming optimism. Moreover, they resolved themselves to use this personal misfortune as an opportunity to help others coping with this disease. They really are quite amazing people!
While the couple’s wonderfully positive mindset and altruistic nature is a source of inspiration for all those around them, a new and exciting clinical trial at Duke University Medical Center is in turn, a source of inspiration for them. Kelly has been accepted into this unique program and will talk about her promising treatment at “Kelly’s LifeFund Benefit” that will be held at the Ashland Café in Cockeysville, MD on Sunday, March 30th at 4:00 pm.
Even as hopefulness abounds, let’s remember that the course to a cure is expensive. Medical bills will mount, travel expenses for her treatments at Duke Medical Center will accumulate and the effects of lost income will further compound their financial burden. So as Kelly and Wayne move forward on this courageous journey, let’s join together and offer what we can to send them on the Trip of Their Lives! All the while reminded they are surrounded by caring friends who share in the healing power of fellowship and music.
