Mona is on her second knee surgery after tearing her ligament and having complications. We are hoping she can walk normal again.

In August 2012, Mona tore her Left Rear Knee Ligament. It is apparently pretty common, with multiple surgery options to fix it (all with high success rates). The cost of this was about $2800. However, after 2 months, Mona has barely been using her leg. Should should have been bearing weight after 2 or 3 weeks. All this time we have had to keep her quiet and confined to not damage the surgery. We brought her back to the doctor in mid-October, and he says her knee cap keeps falling out of place (the knee cap replaces the torn ligament). So he says he can tighten some ligaments to keep it aligned. ($600) However, before the doctor operated, while Mona was under he looked closer at the knee, and found the knee was pivoting. His solution is to put sutures on each side connecting the femur and tibia, so the leg won't twist. This is jumping the price up to $1600!
