Kaylee's family and friends are dedicated to giving her the best possible care, therapy and education possible. Thank you for your support.

Funds raised will be used cover medical expenses and therapy costs not covered by insurance. And most importantly, a portion of the donations will be passed on to Kaylee's local Special Olympics to provide more training and services to the athletes.

Kaylee had symptoms of epilepsy since about 16 months old. She was developmentally delayed and started showing signs of autism by the age of 3. Her family tried to give her the best possible care and quickly exhausted their savings and retirement trying to find the right treatment for her. By the age of 5 she had been on nearly every anti-epilepsy medication. At this point she was having over 150 seizures a day and on a combination of 3 medications. She would emerge from these seizures disoriented and exhausted and would often go right into another seizure.

In April of 2010 Kaylee was hospitalized to begin the ketogenic diet which changes fundamentally the nutritional structure of her body. The diet uses an extremely high fats and low carbs to build up ketones in the brain that basically acts as insulation. This is a diet that requires an extensive amount of dedication and time. All food has to be weighed to the gram and the fats, carbs and protein have to be calculated and supplied at the appropriate ratio and caloric amount. The diet has taken her from over 150 seizures a day and three medications to around 5 extremely short seizures and no medication.

She is now an extremely high functioning autistic but due to her diet, physical therapy and ongoing daily care she has to be home schooled. There are many daily trials and tribulations, but they are all worth it to see Kaylee grow and develop into the extraordinary girl we all know she is.

We thank you for your support.
