This is the Ed Webler Kidney Fund. These funds will be used to cover living and medical expenses related to Ed's End Stage Renal Failure.

As a premature baby, Ed was born with Hyline Membrane Disease (disease of the lungs) and a single kidney. In June of 2001 Ed was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure - in lay-men's terms his kidney failed. Ed spent 14 months on dialysis. Though a life saving option, dialysis is painful and brings with it many limitations and a variety of costly expenses. Family and friends were tested and we found two matches for a kidney transplant. One of Ed's younger brother's donated a kidney to Ed.

After years of treating his transplanted kidney with kid gloves Ed's kidney has reached the end of it's life. On June 25, 2012, Ed was again diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure. Due to employment challenges in this down economy our family is uninsured. We have years of medical expenses in our future and should Ed qualify medically for a second transplant our uninsured status is a brick wall in our financial ability to pay for many of Ed's future medical expenses, much less a transplant.

Ed is the father of a 12 year old daughter, who is very much daddy's little gir, and an 18 year old son who has just been shipped off to boot camp as a US Marine. Both children deserve many more years with their father.

With your help we can raise the necessary funds to cover immediate medical related expense and possibly even the funds for a future transplant.
