Ollie & I need your help to raise funds to offset the cost of his surgery. No amount is too small & please pass the word around!

Ollie, my black lab & best buddy, just ruptured his cruciate ligament running in the yard this past week. This has caused him to be crippled in his left hind leg. For an active dog, this is debilitating but can be remedied by surgery. Ollie is scheduled for the surgery over the Thanksgiving holiday. I am asking for any help to offset some of his medical bills. I was laid off from my job for about two years & just recently found a new position. I am more than aware of how tough times are right now ,
but would appreciate any assistance to get Ollie back on all four legs!...that is my holiday wish!

Ollie is a rescue dog, but not in the normal way dogs are rescued. I wasn’t looking for a dog but he found me. About four years ago I was standing on my deck & Ollie was walking down the street with no owner in sight. I was concerned that he would be hit by a car so I called him into the yard. Well, he came bounding up the yard & right into the house, tail wagging a mile a minute. He did have a tag so I called the police who located the owner who happens to live just about a mile from me. After about an hour, the owner came to pick him up & informed me that they were thinking of getting rid of him because he was too big & too much work for them. How do you just decide you don’t want to bother with a dog that has been living with you, part of your family?! I immediately said I would take Ollie. He is a big, quirky love bug. I have never seen a happier dog, his tail is always wagging & he even smiles at you when you come home.

He’s also my back up singer! That’s a whole story in itself. One Christmas I was playing the Elvis’ “Blue Christmas” & started to sing along. Well, Ollie came right over & stood next to me & started singing & howling! Now, I’m not sure if he just likes the song or hates my singing, but we're taking our act on the road!

He has brought such joy, laughter & love into our home. So Ollie is a rescue dog... but I didn’t rescue him, he found & rescued me!
