The family and friends of James Parker are uniting to raise money to help him fight his battle against Stage 4 Colon cancer.

James was diagnosed last year with cancer. My family had recently moved to Germany and he did not want to burden us with this news. It wasn't until after Christmas that they finally told us, not wanting to ruin the holidays. James was responding to chemo as planned and it looked like he was going to win. They found a mass of cancer on his liver and decided to remove more than half of his liver to rid of the cancer that remained here. In the meantime, his doctor forgot to order his chemo before she went on vacation. Needless to say getting chemo without orders is near impossible. While waiting for his doctor to return, his cancer of course multiplied. The cancer spread all over his body. He got a new doctor that was excellent that got his cancer cells to split in two. Then of course something else took a turn for the worse. James had been in excurciating pain for days and when he finally could not handle it anymore, my mom brought him to the ER. They found that his small bowel was blocked by a mass and cancer. They were able to clear the mass but they could not remove the tumor, as his small bowel was close to being completely depleted. He was not allowed to eat for many days, while waiting for his small bowel to act on it's own. The doctor's stated that if it had not started working on his own, there was nothing else they could do. I prayed, I reached out for prayers, and God is so good that he answered them. He is now home, he responded to the surgery as planned and he is finally able to get chemo again. The only problem we have now and paying for the chemo, in which I am asking for your help. This man is important to me, my kids, my mother and his own children and their kids. He served his country well by serving in the US Army, he served his community well as a police officer in Texas and I am hoping our country and our community will serve him now. As you know prescriptions, ER trips, surgeries, chemo and medical appointments add up and I still believe he can fight this! Thank you so much!
