This is the Unite Jax and Barkley fund. Please help us improve Jax' quality of life by uniting him with Service Dog Barkley. Thank you!

On his first birthday in 2010, Jax Henry was diagnosed with a severe peanut / tree nut allergy. If he eats even a trace amount or breathes in nut particles, he will have an anaphyaxis reaction (he will stop breathing). He has lived in a bubble for the past two years, unable to participate in normal activities. It's nearly impossible to take him to his brothers' baseball games or school programs. At the store, he must stay in the cart that has been sanitized. He can't go to places like The Science Center. Peanuts / Tree nuts are everywhere, threatening his life daily. We have been given a wonderful opportunity to drastically improve his quality of life. There is a service dog available for him that sniffs out peanuts and tree nuts. This dog's name is Barkley and he is currently located in Texas. Barkley will go everywhere with us, ensuring Jax is safe from the things that threaten to harm him daily. Barkley has gone through nearly two years of training to be certified as a Service Dog. He doesn't come cheap, but we know that Jax' safety is worth every single penny spent. The cost for him is $12,840 plus the cost of traveling to Texas for two weeks of training with him (which is required). We will be selling several items (like our RV and boat) to help with this expense.
