This is the Jess Badgett Spine Infection Fund. This money will be used for expensive medicine and medical expenses not covered by insurance.

My name is Jess Bagdett and I am 25 years old and the adoring mother of two wonderful children, Alex my dughter whom is 7, and Ryan my son who is 4. Right now I am in the hospital where I have been for over a month. On Labor Day, while teaching my daughter how to dive at a local pool, I dove off of the diving board and hit the water wrong, causing two discs to rupture. I went straight to the ER and was admitted because I couldn't walk. That Friday, I had a surgery to fix the ruptures called Hemilamenectomy. Two days post-op, I was released to go home. After four days at home, the pain was not letting up and my back suture bagan leaking and I was told to come immediately back to the hospital, where I was admitted again. It was determined that I had a somewhat rare CSF leak from my spinal wound being punctured during the first surgery or while healing. This made me very sick, causing the worst headaches and nausea imaginable. I went the very next morning into the OR again to patch the puncture and the next four days to follow, I was to lie flat on my back moving no more than ten degrees, as to not rip anything further. Afterwards, during the MRI, it came out that I have an abscess and staph infection on my spine. Now, I am in the hospital needing meds that I cannot afford with medical bills that I cannot pay. The antibiotics that I need are $11,000 alone! I have not-so-good insurance, paying a mere $700/day for my hospital stay while each day stayed averages $3,000-$4,000. I have been recommended to go home, however, again my insurance will not cover home health or outpatient care therefore I am being treated to the best of the doctor's ability. I do need the $11,000 antibiotics and help with my medical bills. I do work, but only part-time and my finances are being used to provide for my children and I have been out of work since I am hospitalized and I won't be able to go back until I am well. My Grandmother, who is 68 years old, is currently taking care of my children and we just can't afford my medical bills and the antibiotics that I so desperately need to be well. ANY small amount given will help and be greatly appreciated. I thank you for your time and donation and having a heart and being compassionate to others less fortunate. You will be blessed! -Jess Badgett
