The family of Tracy Broski is raising money to offset the costs incurred during her battle against stage 4 metastasizing breast cancer.

Update: I am saddened to have to post this, as this was not the outcome we were hoping for. Tracy passed away on 8/26/2011, Merely six months after being diagnosed, and less than two weeks after doctors discovered that her breast cancer had spread. She fought this cancer hard, and we all hoped that she would pull through.
Words cannot express the sadness that my father is experiencing at this sudden loss.
Donations are still very much needed to help offset the devastating financial burden that this illness caused. Any further contributions or condolences on her behalf can still be sent here or directly to my dad, John Broski, at 161-B North Street PO Box 53 Helena, Ohio 43435.

Tracy is a beautiful, 48 year old loving wife, mother and grandmother who was diagnosed with Stage 3+ breast cancer on February 28th, 2010. After the startling and sudden diagnosis, within two weeks she underwent surgery for a Double Mastectomy; she also began chemotherapy treatments and the fight of her life. Everything was seemingly going as well as could be expected, and Tracy was even beginning to start wondering if she could soon return to her job of 13 years at Reino's Linen in Gibsonburg, Ohio .

However, as of August 13th, 2011 (Not even a mere 6 months after the diagnosis) the aggressive cancer has now metastasized and spread to her brain.
In addition to the emergency surgery she recently received to drain spinal fluid that was surrounding her brain via a surgically placed shunt, She now requires Whole Brain Radiation Therapy as part of her treatment in an attempt to eradicate the Brain Metastases.

Compounding matters, Her husband (my dad), John, was also laid off the same week that Tracy was diagnosed, which has left them living off of their savings during Tracy's fight. A savings which is now nearly depleted. In addition, Tracy's FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) linked health insurance benefits (through the company in which she had been employed for 13 years) expired on June 8th, leaving all of the upcoming treatments and surgeries to be paid for out of pocket. At this point, my dad is finding it increasingly difficult to even afford the gas to make the hour long drive to the hospital to be by her side.

We don't know what the total expenses are going to be - but we HAD to get something started.

The costs to maintain daily living expenses while she fights this cancer are continually mounting. It is important that Tracy focus all of her energy and strength on winning this battle.

We are raising money to offset/assist with these expenses. Our hope is that we alleviate that financial burden so Tracy can concentrate on getting better.
Tracy has been a positive inspiration throughout her fight and still continues to impress her family and doctors with her courage and determination.

She is currently hospitalized at Firelands Regional Medical Cancer Center in Sandusky, Ohio.
(She has now been transferred to Bethesda Care Center in Fremont, Ohio)

If you are unable to donate monetarily, please consider donating your time in passing along word of this fundraiser.
No amount donated is too small, as every single dollar will be appreciated and used for Tracy's Fight.

Thank you,
Tabitha Greer & The Broski Family
