St. Paul's by the Sea in Ocean City, MD suffered a tragic and deadly fire on the morning of November 26th. Please donate to assist.
On the morning of November 26th, a fire broke out in the Shepherd's Crook and office area of St. Paul's by the Sea Episcopal Church in Ocean City, MD. The fire quickly spread, and, tragically, claimed the life of the church's Rector, Father David Dingwall. One other person, yet to be identified, perished in the fire and another unidentified person was hospitalized with life threatening injuries.
It is unclear, at this point, as to the extent of the physical damage to the church, but it is extensive. The old Rectory, where the fire started, suffered fire damage, and there seems to be smoke and water damage throughout the church.
At the time of the fire, the church and Shepherd's Crook were preparing to package and deliver food and clothing to local homeless and needy families as part of their annual holiday food drive.
This fundraiser is not being held by the church itself, and is the effort of several people who grew up in the church and are members. Any donations are appreciated and all funds will go directly to St. Paul's by the Sea to disburse as needed, for whatever purpose they see fit.
