This is a fundraiser for Stephanie Vollowitz Light! The Light family could use our help in paying for medical bills as she fights cancer.

What comes to mind when you hear the name, Stephanie Vollowitz Light? Many of you think sister, friend, a mother (Mummy), a wife, a consultant, Stephie, Tiffie. Notice how the word cancer is not listed -

September 2010 Stephanie was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She has already gone through surgery to remove her thyroid and has radioactive iodine treatment coming up. Stephanie’s treatment consists of taking a radioactive pill that requires her to be isolated for almost 2 weeks, then no physical contact or kissing for almost 1 month. Her husband has to take unpaid time off work to care for their son during this time. She will need to be monitored for radioactivity, and have many tests which include blood and whole body scans for the rest of her life.

Two weeks before taking this pill, Stephanie has to go on a special low iodine diet, which thyca patients call "hypo hell". She will have zero energy!

Stephanie has not been able to work for over 2 months now, and has gone through many emotional ups and downs.

My name is Lisa Swanson and I am Stephanie’s sister. Tiffie is more than a sister, she is a trusted friend. I have created this fundraiser, with the help of our sister, Joanna, not because she has asked me, but because she could use our help. We all know asking for help is hard to do and that is why this is coming from me, not Stephanie.

Please help us raise $15,000 to help pay for Stephanie's medical bills. The Light family is very near and dear to many of us. Raising this money would help them through this stage in their life so they can move on to many years of living, not how she survived cancer and struggled paying her medical bills.

Thank you for visiting this website and reading this story. If you choose not to make a donation today, please remember prayers are gifts as well!
