The family and friends of Happy Bright are uniting to raise money to help Happy overcome learning difficulties due to autism.

Living in America today, literacy comes as a natural and necessary part of life. Learning to read is quite possibly the most important thing in a young child's life and it is what will ultimately prepare us to succeed in life. Without the ability to read, how are we to function in society? Truly, reading seems like a right we should all have.
This fundraiser aims to give that right back to a young boy in need. Happy Bright, a 6th grade boy living in Colleyville, TX, an autistic child has major reading disabilities as well as other cognitive deficits. Happy is reading at the 3rd grade level. So far, the help he gets in school has not been enough and the free after-school tutoring he receives can only do so much. Many children with his same deficits are put in a special school or program where they can eventually conquer their deficits and learn to read at a sustainable level.
Happy's issue is that he comes from a family with a very limited amount of money and resources, making many of those doors closed to him. It is my goal to raise the money necessary to get Happy into a very special and successful cognitive training program that will give him the tools he needs to succeed. The Program is called Learning RX and you can read more about it (see how key reading is?) at www.learningrx.com or check out one of the great videos linked on the side. Happy has been assessed to need a 36 week program that will get him to where he needs to be.
Happy now initiates and carries on conversation now. He ask questions, listens and processes my response.
Recently, Happy told me he had a dream that he graduated from college and was so happy. Thank you for any help you can give to make this dream of his and those who know and love him come true.
