This is the Bella Snake Bite Recovery fund. The funds will be used for Bella's medical costs and all related expenses needed.

Our daughter's 4lb yorkiepoo that is 1 1/2 yrs old, was bitten by a water moccasin this past thursday night around 11pm in our back yard."Bella', was being walked before bedtime when she stepped into the grass approx. 4-5 feet from our porch, and was bitten on her front left leg. Bella yellped and screamed as loud as her little lungs possibly could and then limped inside and hid in her travel cage. This was the first time we had little Bella be something other than pure joy, energy and happy. To say that my husband and I went into overdrive is an understatement. We quickly killed the snake and began to get Bella to the vet. We live in a very rual area of Florida in the state's panhandle, with the closest emergency care being over 50 miles away in Tallahassee. The emergency care for her has totaled over $900.00 thus far and she is scheduled for follow-up care in two weeks at an additional approx. $175.00. This has created a very hard financial problem for our family. Bella is family, as all our dogs are. We did not hesitate in getting her the care she required, but the aftermath sets in when you grasp the terms of this emergency care. We have been given 28 days, till the 6th of August to pay the remaining balance plus the follow-up fee's and the fee's associated with this web site. This comes at a time when both my husband and I lost our jobs and we are currently working part time. Bella is slowly recovering and has a stomach condition now that was caused by shock that followed this terrible snake attack. They told us that if this condition did not get corrected, that dogs do not survive. She will be tested again, as well as x-rayed next week. In the meantime, we are reporting every other day to the vet and she is currently taking 5 different medications due to this incident. We pray for her continued recovery and humbly seek any financial assistance that can be made to help pay the vet emercency care bill. God bless and thank you in advance.
