The family of Deborah Roth is praying and asking for help in her fight against stage IV lung cancer. Please help join the fight!

Deborah is 59 years old and has been married 38 years. Deborah is a mother of four and grandmother to eight. She currently lives in Lincolnshire, IL so she can be close to her family as she is currently fighting her sixth battle of cancer ranging over almost 28 years.
October of 1983 she was first diagnosed with breast cancer followed by a lumpectomy. She did not pursue radiation therapy as she became pregnant.
In October of 1984, Deborah was diagnosed with breast cancer followed by a right breast mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation.
Again in 1992, Deborah was diagnosed with breast cancer followed by left breast mastectomy and chemotherapy.
In October 2008 she was diagnosed with oral cancer. This was treated with the removal of the soft and some of the hard palate on the roof of her mouth. She received radiation and the surgery and subsequent treatment has left her with problems in eating and swallowing and severe mouth and throat pain.
In the fall of 2009 a PET scan done in follow up of oral cancer lit up a lymph node in the mediastinum, which led to the finding of lung cancer. This puts her in the 15% group of non-smokers that get lung cancer. She subsequently was treated with a combination of radiation and chemotherapy.
In November 2010, Deborah was referred to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Since that time Deborah has been treated with Tarceva and chemotherapy for non-small cell lung carcinoma stage IV A. She has qualified for a state-of-the-art trial at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota after chemotherapy and an operation attempt at removal did not work.
This month a slot in that JTBA Clinical trial research study at Mayo Clinic opened up and Deborah has agreed to be a participant in this study. This is a study of an investigational drug that is an antibody. Technology has made it possible to make antibodies to treat people with certain diseases removing certain harmful substances the body makes. This investigational drug is an antibody that is being tested to see if it blocks the effects of a protein called cMET that may be involved in cancer. This study requires Deborah to be at Mayo the first week of the cycle and every other subsequent week. She will receive the drug bi-monthly along with a daily dose of Tarceva.
As you can imagine, this battle has taken quite a toll on Deborah and her family, emotionally and financially. Your support will be contributed towards the travel costs necessary to get her to Mayo and participate in the trial as well as medical expenses not covered by insurance.
We know Deborah loves her friends and family immensely and would love to hear from you. She and her family would appreciate your prayers and support. We do believe in miracles and are believing for one everyday.
