The Aric Mance '89 Fund seeks to raise $8,900 for the family of Aric Mance, who lost his battle with leukemia on Sept. 6, 2011.

"Let our hearts remain aware, that this is our Academy."

The Class of 1989 wishes to honor our classmate, Aric Mance, who lost his battle with leukemia on Sept. 6, 2011, after two hard-fought years. His determination to beat cancer inspired all who knew him. His selflessness moved us. Even in his darkest days, he prayed to God first that his family would be taken care of - even before his own health.

His classmates and friends can help do that - to provide assistance for his family. Please consider giving $89 or any increment of 89 in honor of the class of 1989. Our goal is to raise $8,900.

All proceeds will go to his wife, Kourtney, who is a 6th grade teacher at Woodward. Aric and Kourtney's two children - Austin and Sydney - also attend Woodward. Austin is in kindergarten with Stephen Manning's son, and Sydney is in the 4th grade.

Their lives will never be the same without Aric, but your help can make the next days, weeks and months a little easier for Kourtney and the children. Maybe this money will bring a little joy to their Christmas.

You may not have shared homeroom with Aric. You may not have shared a class or played basketball with him. He was a quiet, personal person. But his passion for life, for sports, for God, and above all, for his family is something we all CAN identify with. His children ADORED him. If nothing else moves you to give, let it be that - his children.

We appreciate your support and caring. Thank you for your gift to the Aric Mance '89 Fund.
