Family of Shannon Walker are uniting to help the Walker family pay for medical expenses to battle Stage 4 breast cancer. Thank You!

Shannon Walker is a 41 year old women married to Joe Walker. She and Joe have two beautiful children; Jarrod who is 11 and Aubrie is 6. Over the years, Shannon has had her courage and strength put to the test. She is one of the strongest individuals I know, and I’m proud to be a part of her family. I would like to share Shannon’s courage with the world; so her is her story!

Shortly after Shannon and Joe were Married; Joe was involved in an accidental shooting to the head that sent Shannon and the family praying for Joe's survival. Prayers, strength, love, and support paid off. After many months of recovery and rehabilitation, Joe recovered and is the father and husband that we know today. Many uneventful years went by until tragedy struck this family again.

On September 1st, 2011 Shannon was faced with the possibility of loosing her sister to sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 37. Despite this unexpected situation the family was going through, Shannon remained strong and courageous for the entire family. Shannon never left her sister or mothers side and a few days later our prayers were answered, Paige was regaining consciousness in the ICU. Shortly after, Paige was released from the hospital and made a full recovery. Little did the family know, there was more to come.

A couple of weeks after Paige's accident, Shannon noticed a lump in her breast. After numerous visits and tests, Shannon was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer at the age of 41. Since the diagnosis just a few months ago, the cancer has metastasized throughout her body including her bones. Shannon had to undergo back surgery to repair damage caused by the cancer to her lower spine to ease some of the pain and enable her to be able to walk again. Even though this was a necessary procedure, it was not covered by insurance as they considered it an elective procedure. After the back surgery, Shannon was been bed bound for several weeks. She receives Chemo sessions every 3 weeks for an unknown length of time at approx $25,000 per treatment. Shannon has been unable to work or care for her family since her diagnosis. Shannon and her children have moved in with her mother while she is undergoing chemo treatment while her husband Joe, continues to work full time and take care of their home.

Despite the physical, emotional, and financial burden this has had on Shannon and her family, she continues to keep her spirits and determination high!

I am asking for donations of any amount to assist the Walker family with medical expenses in her fight against breast cancer! Hope is what keeps life in motion!
