On the evening of June 11,2012 we took our daughter to a second Er in two weeks looking for answers. I remember being so scared she may have pneumonia. It was much much worse. The Er took a chest X-ray and the doctor came in and told us our daughter was in congestive heart failure and he had called Life Flight to carry her to Riley's Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. My daughter looked at me and asked "Mommy am I gonna die?" And I looked her in the eye and with all my strength and told her absolutely not. We found out once we got to Indianapolis that she was also in end stage renal failure. We were devastated. She was on the vent for 17 days. She had to have continuous dialysis we were terrified. We found out it was a virus that attacked and killed her kidneys and that caused the congestive heart failure. They said she needed a transplant. She has worked so hard at getting her heart healthy again and she continues to carry a B average in school in spite if having to miss most of 3 days a week to go to dialysis. She is so smart and talented and generous and optimistic and she is my hero. Always positive. Now we get fantastic news!! We have a match! Her amazing dad is a match! So now all we need is enough money to cover expenses. That is why we are staring this fundraiser...hoping to raise enough for AMY'S ANSWER. Thank you bless you for all the help!!
