Well I am a member of a club here at Virginia Tech called Students Helping Honduras that helps builds schools in the city of El Progreso.

Hello, my name is Elliott Kitchen and I am raising funds to go on my first ever trip to Honduras to help build schools in the city of El Progreso. I am going with a club which is a non-profit called Students Helping Honduras. The chapter I belong to is at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA where I am currently a junior studying accounting. As I said I have never been on a construction-aid trip to Honduras before but in August I went to a village in the mountains of Haiti outside of the town of Ganthier. This was my first ever international construction-aid trip and I was hooked. I knew that I wanted to go to more places and to do this as frequently as I could about six hours into the first day. So this year when I came back to Tech I knew that I wanted to join Students Helping Honduras; I had heard about them through friends, but I wasn't quite sure about it until I had experienced the joy of helping others on my own. In the town of El Progreso the goal of Students Helping Honduras is to build schools for the children that can accommodate more children and that are built properly with cinderblocks so that they can properly learn and not be distracted by flooded floors during the rain and leaking roofs. Thank you for reading this and if you feel inclined to give a couple of dollars I would really appreciate it as it would make me closer to my ultimate goal of spending December 29th to January 5th in Honduras helping the children.
