Dr. Joyce Shelton is committed to healing her stage IV lung cancer. You can help! Please show your support today.

Dr. Joyce Shelton has been helping people heal through the gospel of Jesus Christ and Christian counseling for over 17 years. Her Women of Excellence Ministry has helped hundreds of people in the Jacksonville, Florida area. She is also my friend, mentor, and writing partner. Our first book together is about to be published. On the threshold of such an exciting milestone, however, she is now facing her own crisis and needs your help. Joyce was recently diagnosed with stage IV adenocarcinoma (lung cancer). Staying true to her lifelong commitment to a healthy, natural lifestyle, she has chosen to receive care at Oasis of Hope in Mexico, a facility dedicated to doing no harm, and to Christ's commandment to love one another. Oasis of Hope is for patients who wish to collaborate actively with their doctors to do everything rational, feasible, and reasonably safe to keep their cancer at bay and, if possible, reverse it. Because Oasis of Hope goes beyond cancer eradication to concentrate on the quality of life the patient experiences, spiritual support is emphasized. Clinical studies confirm that religious coping has a positive impact and improves the quality of life in cancer patients. It is also significant to note that the science at Oasis of Hope is unique because there is no disconnect between the research department and the attending physicians. There is a direct connection from the medical literature to the medical practices. This truly is one of the most important factors about Oasis of Hope and greatly responsible for the value of the cancer treatments offered. Where traditional treatment will leave her body poisoned and her health depleted, this center offers the hope of restoration and the comfort of prayer, sound medical science, and healthy, integrative treatment plans. The cost for just her first 2 weeks of treatment is $15,000. After that, Joyce and a companion will have to travel to Mexico monthly for additional treatments. We are currently unsure how much of this may be eligible for insurance reimbursement. Regardless, the family faces considerable financial challenges while Joyce is not able to practice counseling, her pastor husband must take time away from work to be by her side, and they incur new and unexpected expenses associated with this diagnosis. We are aiming to match that initial cost with this fundraiser. Joyce has a tremendously beautiful heart and desires nothing greater than to continue to counsel, write, and work to bring the fullness of the gospel to life in the hearts of others. Won't you please prayerfully consider giving to this commitment to health and healing for a woman whose selfless ministry has been a source of healing and restoration for so many?
