Riley has been diagnosed with Lymphoma, but that won't stop her from being a fighter.

In 2009, I rescued Riley from the Louisiana SPCA in New Orleans.

She was a year and a half when I adopted her, and now at the age of five, she has been diagnosed with Lymphoma.

The doctors have said that if left untreated, she only has two short months, but that is not an option for us. I am raising money to get RIley the treatment that she so desperately needs.

After the last vet appointment, I have been informed that chemotherapy is her only option. Unlike humans, chemo for dogs is given in a much smaller dose therefore having no serious side effects. In theory, this will extend her life as a happy, fun-loving dog.

Riley has also been accepted to go through a promising radiation trial study at Texas A&M. This study is funded by a grant so her radiation treatment will be covered by the school.

Her treatment will go as follows: She will undergo 19 weeks of chemotherapy followed by 2 weeks of radiation. Even though the radiation will be covered, the chemo will not which is where I enlist your help.

On a related note, the radiation will also not have any serious side effects besides being away from her family for 2 weeks. I want everyone to know this because I would not be going this route if I thought this would ever put Riley in any form of discomfort.

As a part of the fundraising efforts, I will be raffling off a free photo session. For every $10 you donate, I will put your name in to win a photo session with me ( Please just e-mail me or make a comment on the donation if you would like to be entered. Houston or New Orleans area people only :)
