The family and friends of Brett Boxell are uniting to raise money to help Brett in any way possible in his battle against cancer.

Hello,
Brett Boxell is a very good friend of our family and he has been going through life threatening issues these past few months. Brett was diagnosed with throat cancer last May and started treatments of Chemotherapy and Radiation. At the time everything seemed to be going great the tumor was getting smaller and Brett seemed to be in great spirits. Then in December of last year the doctors found more tumors that had shown up in his cheek and face area. They had to do surgery to remove these tumors, because of the locations they had to remove Brett’s jaw, teeth, tonsils, tongue and most of his cheek on the left side of his face. The doctors told us that they did get all of the tumors and after another round of chemotherapy and radiation that if he had everything healed they could do reconstructive surgery for his jaw, teeth and his tongue. Brett got to come home after being in the hospital for the month of December, but then at the beginning of January he started to bleed out and had to be rushed to the hospital where they were able to stop the bleeding, and get him stabilized. He was admitted into ICU and monitored. That night he started bleeding again, it took several attempts to get the bleeding stopped. It took too long; for a brief second we lost him. The doctors were able to resuscitate but not without leaving a hard decision for Brett to make. Brett had to decide if he wanted to have a procedure done that would coil off his left carotid artery. This procedure could cause stroke, paralysis or death. However, if he did not do this, the artery would rupture but it would be a painless death. Brett being the fighter that he is and using his faith in God to keep him strong, decided to undergo the surgery. Luckily the procedure worked and Brett did not suffer from any of the negative implications that could have happened. Brett is finally home but he still has several surgeries, and has to go through chemotherapy and radiation treatments yet again. Brett does not have insurance and you can imagine the bills that he has accrued through all of this. Not to mention just normal every day bills that he still has a responsibility for. We are trying to raise money to help offset some of these bills. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
