The Family and friends of Dylan Ronk are uniting to raise money to help in his battle against acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).

Dylan is six years old and was diagnosed with T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in December of 2012.

Leukemia is a cancer of the white blood cells characterized by too many lymphoblasts. The bone marrow produces too many white blood cells that do not mature, and consequentially crowds out the red blood cells and platelets before spreading to other parts of the body.

Dylan's treatment consists of 3 1/4 years of chemotherapy and cranial radiation therapy (CRT). He has completed the CRT and is currently in the delayed intensification stage of chemo.

He has been through a lot in the last 6 months. His white cell count at diagnosis was 100,000, so he had low platelets and red blood cells. He received multiple transfusions of both at admission. His heart was enlarged to compensate the anemia, and also his spleen. He has had pancreatitis twice from an allergy to one of the chemo drugs.

He travels 1 hour each way to a pediatric hospital for chemo several times a month. His mother, a registered nurse, has had to give up her position in order to be his full-time care provider.
