This is Raiden's ASD Ipad Fund. The money raised will be used to help buy Raiden an Ipad to help with his Autism Spectrum Disorder.

This is a fundraiser to attempt to get my son Raiden an Ipad and the apps that go with it. Raiden was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder as of October of 2011. The hardest areas of learning for him seem to be speech/communication and his behavior/emotions. He has a very difficult time communicating and getting across his wants/needs/emotions.

For example... while a child without ASD might be able to spill a glass of milk and either ask for help or clean it up themselves. Raiden can get overwhelmed and he'll throw himself on the ground and bawl. His not being able to communicate or cope well also has an effect on his 18 month old sister. Since he will get violent with her rather than being able to talk or stay calm. He constantly gets overwhelmed by everything around him.

Recently they recieved a new ipad at his special education preschool and they say he's done amazingly well with it. He's been able to sit down for the half an hour they let him use it and quietly do the exercises. This is wonderful for Raiden who is usually unable to sit down for more than 10 min without fidgeting or getting upset. His speech has also improved and when I talked to his teacher about getting one for home use, she said how great it has been in the classroom and she thought it'd be a big help to him.

I do not like to ask for things from people I don't know and for myself, I wouldn't. However, my son deserves the best and I can't afford to give him that right now. At the moment I am a single mother of a 5 year old son (Raiden) and 1 1/2 year old daughter. We live in a studio apartment and have the means to survive but no more than that. My son is a beautiful bright and loving child that deserves the chance to live as happy and comfortable as everyone else and I think this would help him improve the state he is in right now. So I hope that with any help I can eventually afford to get him what he needs. Thank you in advance for taking the time out to read this and happy upcoming holidays.
