Help us offset the cost of medical expenses, treatment and upcoming surgery for Baby Tommy.

On April 6, 2012 we welcomed our first son into the world. Baby Tommy was born with a hemangioma on the bridge of his nose. An MRI revealed that the tumor was not attached to his brain thankfully. However, due to it's size and position, they fear that it will affect his vision. He is currently on a treatment of propranolol three times a day, which his doctors hope will gradually shrink the tumor. He spent a week in the hospital adjusting to the treatment when he was just two weeks old. At our last visit to Cooper University Hospital, the doctors did not feel confident that the tumor was shrinking as they had hoped. We will be discussing surgery options by the end of the month.

As his mother, I am doing everything I can to provide my son with the best possible treatment and care. However, the financial burden on my family is great. I am the sole income provider for us as my husband is unable to work due to a back injury. Unfortantely I do not get sick days or vacation pay from my employment as a realtor. I have been waitressing too, in order to save money for his surgery. All monies raised will go to his care and medical expenses and will help to offset the cost of living and missed work days. Thank you for your donations and support for our precious son!

July 8, 2012-Update, Tommy's dermatologist is recommending surgery. We have an eye doctor appointment July 19th, and from then we will decide on a surgery date. If the eye doctor determines it is affecting his vision signifigantly, the surgery will be immediate. If it is not interfering with his sight, we will still have surgery at the next available open surgery date. As you can imagine, a surgery this sensitive requires an experienced team. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!
