Animal lovers are pitching in to help a brave little cat get a chance of living a healthy life.

Meet Zara, my newly adopted kitten that is need of some love and some help. She is approximately one year old and has already had a life full of hardships. Just over a week ago, a former teacher of mine, Tracey Laundry, found this kitten on the side of the road, near her house. The cat appeared to have been either abandoned or thrown out of a vehicle in a effort to dispose of the kitten. Assuming that she was no longer alive, Mrs. Laundry took the cat to give it a proper burial. However, to her surprise the cat was still alive. With the help of her neighbors and family, she was able to give the cat water, food and shelter for the time being. Immediately they noticed something was wrong with her front leg. She was not putting any weight on it, and it did not to look right. The family patched her up with a make-shift splint. Soon after, the nearly dead cat gave birth to a litter of 7 premature kittens, none of which survived. Since being taken in by Mrs. Laundry and her neighbors, I have decided to take the cat myself and give her a second chance at life. She is in need of medical attention and will require surgery to fix her broken leg. However, I cannot afford this on my own and would like to kindly ask for any support you, your friends or family can give. The surgery is expected to be between $2000-3000 dollars, but will be worth every penny if this cat can walk properly again and live a happy life. She needs the surgery as soon as possible to avoid complications from more scar tissue. Any money that is raised that exceeds the medical bills will be donated to a Cat Humane Society.
