Create a fundraiser like this

I am a young man who works hard and tries to get by. I am out of state at college and my parents recently declared bankruptcy so I work nights and do everything I can to stay afloat. I want to achieve my potential.

Trying to Make It.

My name is Dane Moeggenberg. I am a senior in college at Indiana University and have been working part-time jobs as a full-time student for nearly all of my college life.  I am not a beggar. I am not desperate. I am simply a young man in America that is trying to make it. I am trying to stay alive in this competitive world with my knowledge and experience to guide me.

Being that I am an out of state student at a Big Ten university, it may seem that I am simply asking for handouts. This is not the case. Since beginning school my family has had to take out over $100,000 in loans just for tuition. In October 2009, my parents declared chapter 7 bankruptcy and I can't help but think that I was a large part of their debt. I meant to cause no harm; I simply wanted to do well at school and make them proud. Now my dad is out of business and I am still here, with Himalayan-sized loans awaiting me after graduation.

My parents are good people; mom is a 4th grade teacher and dad has 30+ years experience in retail. They have worked hard and have three great kids to show for it. The problem is, I am the only one still dependent and lose sleep over the fact that I had a part in augmenting their financial burden. I bought a car so they could sell the one I was driving before and that's basically the reason for this fundraiser. I'd like to pay off my car and have enough leftover to live for a few months while I do my best to get a job before next winter.

If you have a couple of extra bucks, I would appreciate the help. If not, thanks for reading this anyway and I hope you find a more suitable donation.

“Money will come when you are doing the right thing.” - Mike Phillips.

Have a great day.
