The loved ones of Carla B. are banding together to provide some financial comfort during her treatment for breast cancer.

The first thing you should know about Carla is that she is unfathomably kind. She is the kind of person that would give you her last $40.00 for movie tickets just to see joy on the face of someone she loves (I really enjoyed the popcorn and movie). Carla is the kind of person that sits in her home at night and worries about unlucky homeless dogs roaming the streets in her neighborhood, wishing she could take them all in (Fido says thank you). Although she has suffered financially from the poor economy in recent years she has somehow survived. Despite the fact that she has not been feeling well lately she has been putting applications out online in hopes of finding employment. Then everything changed.

The next thing that you should know about Carla is that she was just diagnosed with stage 2 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. She will soon be losing her hair, both her breasts, and will be starting chemotherapy.

The moment this became real to all of us who love her is when she finally told us what worries her most. Most people would first worry of the pain of the treatment, the loss of both breasts, or the loss of all her hair. Not Carla. The thing that worries her most is how she will pay for the gas to get to her chemo appointments, unreliable transportation, and paying for her medication. This coming from a person who would eat only peanut butter sandwiches for a week straight before asking family or neighbors for grocery money.

To all of you reading this I want you know how much your donation will mean to her. Five dollars will give her enough gas to get to the doctor. Ten dollars will help her eat for a day. It is heartbreaking for anyone to go through this. I know because my mother is in remission from stage 4 colon cancer. Carla even lost her own mother and brother to cancer. All of these things are extremely difficult for anyone but to go through this in extreme poverty is unthinkable. Please help if you are able. Thank you for reading this and thank you for your donation if you are in the position to assist.
