These funds will be used for the development of Children with Special Needs through the application of academic technology. Every bit helps!

I am a recent college graduate, beginning my career as a therapist for children with Special Needs. I am currently an Infant Toddler Family Specialist (P) working in my community with children under the age of three who either have an established condition or have developmental delays. I absolutely love working with these children and wouldn't trade it for anything. I plan to attend graduate school in the future to further my education in early childhood and/or therapy.

My purpose in raising this money is to purchase technology that will help me to support the children that I visit. Some of these children are nonverbal, some have delays in academic areas (colors, ABCs, shapes, etc.), some children just need to expand their language (farm animals, body parts, rooms in a home, etc.). All of these areas can be developed through specific applications that are available through technology, such as touch-screen devices and online software. I would absolutely love to be able to afford this technology for my children, but it is simply not feasible at this time.

My hope is to help Children with Special Needs develop and live a better life and to assist them in being prepared for the world.

With technology coming so far in the past few years, children have more and more opportunities to learn and develop from the new features. I believe that technology can and will change the lives of children with Special Needs and Developmental Delays. My only goal is to help these children and their families one at a time, changing their future and creating a giant impact on their lives.

As mentioned earlier, these technologies are quite expensive and so are some of the programs that I would be using with these children. If you choose to donate to my cause, I assure you that the entirety will go toward the development of these Children with Special Needs through the application of technology and software.
