Maricela Amaya's family and friends are uniting to raise money to help cover the costs of her funeral services. Thank You for your support

Maricela Amaya was my sister and best friend to me and to many that knew her. Maricela was compasionate, loving, generous, caring, honest, and very giving with her time and energy. On June 7, 2014, Maricela had spent the entire day at Splash Down water park with her daughter Claribel, grand daughter Nana, and several close friends enjoying the beautiful weather and family time. As the day came to a close, Maricela came back home to Newburgh and decided to go to a soccer game with a friend. On her way to the park, Maricela stopped at a deli on Hasbrouck and Mill Streets for something to drink. Unfortunately, these would be my sisters last moments alive for as soon as she paid for her beverage, Maricela collapsed and died within 30 minutes. As of now, her family still doesn't have any answers to why she collapsed and died.
Maricela was one of the most liked and loved people in Newburgh throughout her life. She would always be called upon to translate paper work for friends, assist in cooking for local events, and she never ever asked for compensation. She did what she did out of the goodness of her heart and it is in this sad time of need that her family is asking those that knew her or where moved by her brief but impactful and generous life to not turn their backs on her in her time of need. Me, her brother Carlos and the rest of her immediate family are doing our best to cover my sisters final costs however Maricela's death was not something anyone was expecting and it has completely sent shock waves throughout many and we could have never been prepared for such terrible loss.
So it is with a very heavy heart that I ask you for any help so that we can give Maricela a decent and beautiful funeral service.
We, Maricela's children and immediate family greatly appreceiate your condolences, love and support in this time of pain and sorrow.
