Join us in the 100-day dash for $25,000 to help the ever-upbeat and feisty Jenn with expenses as she battles breast cancer.

Late last year, Jenn saw abnormalities with her right breast. In January she was diagnosed as early stage breast cancer. Given family history and the high probability of having cancer in the other breast within 5 years, Jenn decided to surgically insert a port in her chest (instead of being poked with needles constantly) and then began chemotherapy late February with a double mastectomy planned for the Fall.

Every week the reality of fighting cancer becomes more apparent. From the heavy hit of the diagnosis and treatment decisions in January to Jenn’s hair falling out and other pronounced side effects in March, it continues to be a mental and physical struggle.

As a commission-based real estate agent, Jenn’s not able to generate the same income as before all the doctor’s appointments, treatments and side effects. Chemo will continue through the summer and then reconstructive breast surgery will be done in phases lasting almost a year. We’re raising money for Jenn’s expenses so she can focus all of her energy and strength on winning this battle and not on dwindling bank accounts! The money donated will be used to pay for living expenses and medical expenses not covered by insurance.

Being so suddenly thrown out of your comfort zone can easily cause depression or leave you standing still unable to make decisions. Instead of being a victim or succumbing to depression, Jenn’s brought a unique perspective to the game and publicly discussed each struggle and triumph with all of us via Facebook. Her willingness to share and not hide has made cancer less scary for everyone and has been a real inspiration. Who else could make bald heads all the rage and create the “Chemo Fashion” brand with a different outfit each week?

Our goal is to help Jenn maintain her focus on the fight against cancer and enjoy the support from friends, family and Buddy (her dog) along with sunny weather. In a mini-fundraiser, we raised over $1,200 in a week with only 15 people! We know with all of your help, we’ll easily reach our goal of $25,000 in 100 days.

It takes just a minute to donate online. However, if you prefer to send a check, please contact Pushpa at for details. Thank you.
