With only a $100 donation you can adopt a baby for 1 year. Your donation helps provide for the feeding, care and vaccinations needed to insure the healthy development and growth of our babies. Our gift to you for your donation arrives in a beautiful custom presentation folder and includes a signed Certificate of Adoption, a framed photo portrait of the baby you choose, a bio detailing its age, how it came to CARE and its progress after arriving at the center along with a letter of thanks. You will also be recognized by having your name added to our growing list of Friends on our Friends of CARE webpage. An adoption would make a great gift for your family and friends or anyone interested in helping these tiny babies develop into healthy, happy baboons.

Baby baboons need the same love, care and reassurance as a human child if it is to grow into a confident, intelligent little being that can survive in the wild. They need a family, of their own kind and they need a secure habitat where there are no hunters or poachers present.

CARE, the Centre for Animal Rehabilitation and Education, is based in Phalaborwa, South Africa. Here orphaned baboons are rescued when they lose their mothers. Many times these tiny, wrinkly, helpless infants are found clinging to its dead mothers’ bodies after hunters have shot their troops. Other times after the infants have witnessed their mothers being shot, they are either sold to become someone’s pet, or worse be used in an animal testing lab.

Baboons do not make good pets; they are intelligent and curious characters which need their own kind to play with and a large, secure habitat to run around in. When baboons are kept as pets they soon grow too big and are too wild and destructive to keep in the house, so often they are put in tiny cages, with no company. Thankfully CARE rescues baboons of all ages, and puts them safe outdoor enclosures, with their own kind. Here they can learn to be baboons again and get ready to be reintroduced back into the wild.

Rescuing and care of these baboons requires lots of resources; transport, land, enclosures, food and more - so the lives of the babies depends on generous individuals like yourselves to give them a chance for a better future!

Please help the orphaned baboons of South Africa - their lives depend on your generosity. Please don't think someone else will pay for them, because they won't, we need YOUR help! YOU CAN be the difference to these little helpless beings lives, helping them to have a bright, happy, healthy and loving future.
