help safeguard important memories in Iraq

In 1982, I was a little girl when my family was devasted by Saddam's government. We were imprisoned, tortured and some of my family were executed. Later we were exiled with nothing.

At that time, our home was converted for government use into a torture and chemical experiment lab where detainees suffered through unspeakable acts carried out by the government.

Our family home was raided by the United States Army during its liberation of Iraq and much of what was contained within was taken as evidence in support of its efforts. There still remains much evidence of its past use.

The home is to be released soon from the grips of the government. I am trying to acquire and safeguard the contens of the home. My project is to restore the home and convert it to a museum and memorial to those many thousands who perished at that time.

I am appealing to you for your help. Remembering the past is an important part of learning and not making the same mistakes in the future. Iraq needs intervention and it requires proactive acts by people to help ensure a stable and secure future. Together with your help, we can do great things. Your support is required to make this happen.
