The campaign, known as Spring Training, the Historical Society must raise $30,000. To save the Infield, Warren Spahn's home from demolition.

Help the AMI Historical Society Hit a Home Run!

The Historical Society has been offered the winter home of baseball Hall of Famer Warren Spahn. The home, known as Infield, must be moved from its present location so the owners can sell the property.

The "Baseball Zone" at the north end of the Island began in the 1950s when Spahn bought two beach cottages and named them Infield and Outfield. He then built the only two-story cottage called The Diamond and another called The Mound, both of which have been demolished. Others include Home Plate, Catcher's Mitt and Shortstop.

The Historical Society has begun a fundraising campaign to move and restore Infield as a baseball museum in order to showcase the Island's rich baseball history, which includes teams from the Boston Braves to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

During Phase I of the campaign, known as Spring Training, the Historical Society must raise $30,000. Your donation will help save Infield from demolition and preserve an important part of Island history.
