This is the Danielle Saliens NeuroEndocrine/Carcinoid Cancer Fund. Fund will be used for Danielle's medical cost/expenses.

I came to medical attention in November, 1998 when I was a senior at Sam Houston State University. As I reflect, I have been so blessed to have the best doctors at St. Luke's and MDAnderson Cancer Center. I always felt that I would be get better from the pituitary adenomas and Cushing's disease. Not having a lot of medical knowledge, I had no idea of the extent that I would experience in my disease(s). After my first brain surgery and Peacock Radiation, no one could have convinced me that I would continue to have the challenges that finally gave me a very rare endocrine diagnosis three years ago. It seems that after countless radiation treatments over a thirteen year period. Now oral chemotherapy daily, it has taken a vast financial toll on my family. Having such a rare disease( now Addisons' -because of the bi-lateral adrenalectomy), I find that when new treatments develop, I need to be able to take the treatments. My mother pays for my private health insurance ( the Blue Cross-Texas Risk Pool) and it goes up with age. Right now, my premium is $720 a month, w/$2500 deductible and an additional $3,000 out of pocket each year. I have been disabled since August, 2002 and have not been able to work in the education profession that I trained for and graduated from college to do. My cancer is a stage 4 cancer because it has traveled to my liver and the primary starting area is still unkown. I would be ever so grateful for any donation. My mother has graciously typed this for me as I dictiated it to her. My mother is the best. I feel so blessed that I was born to her.
