Whisper is in rescue and has a mammary tumor which needs to be removed. Funds contributed will be used for costs related to her surgery.

Whisper was found wandering in a snowstorm on Interstate 81 one evening in late December. No owner stepped forward to claim her and so she came into rescue. This sweet, loving middle-aged blue merle australian shepherd girl is probably the product of a merle to merle breeding. She has some vision problems and is almost entirely deaf but that doesn't slow her down in the least.

Whisper has a mammary tumor which needs to be removed but a heart murmur and persistent cough have added to the costs and complicated plans for that surgery.

A long time animal rescue volunteer who has orchestrated the rescue and transport of literally thousands of dogs, many with vision and hearing disabilities, is standing in the wings to adopt Whisper. She and her husband are prepared to pay the estimated $600 for the mastectomy and spay but the additional costs are straining their budget.

A rescue organization and a private individual have already contributed almost $200 for initial examination, xrays and heartworm testing to rule out any complicating issues.

Medication to treat parasites and her cough in addition to a second set of x-rays have cost an additional $268 to date.

Her veterinarian would like to rule out any heart disease as the cause of her cough before subjecting her to anesthesia. A visit with the cardiologist at the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Vet Medicine and a sonogram to determine the condition of her heart will cost about $250.

Your contribution will help our friend bring Whisper home to give her the secure future that she deserves.
