My mother's cancer has returned after 11 years. Her breast cancer has spread to her lungs, bone, and brain.
My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 33 in 2002. After a tough fight, chemo treatments, and many procedures my mother was cancer free. 11 Years later my mom began getting headaches and dizzy spells. She went to the doctor and they thought she had a stroke. No one really knew what the spot was on my mom's brain that showed up on a test. One night my mom was getting worse, we took her straight to the ER. At the hospital many tests were ordered and after four days in the hospital and many test later we found my mom had cancer in her lungs, brain, and bones. My mom is a fighter and a wonderful woman. Rather it be through being a nurse or just a good person she has given so much to community. She has worked her whole life and even after having cancer the first time my mother returned to work. My mom just started an amazing new job in January 2013 as an RN in labor and delivery. My mom as nothing but good things to say about this job and how much she loves helping with new babies everyday . Unfortunately where this is a new job she has not worked a full year yet, meaning she doesn't qualify for FMLA. For the next 90 days the family can keep her insurance as long as we pay $600 a month. After the 90 days are up things are switched over and it will be $2,000 a month. Money should be the last thing my mother has to worry about. We are hoping to raise money to help with these expenses. My mother is a fighter and I believe God is with us and God has big plans for my mother and to use her testimony to reach others. I believe that with God all things are possible.
