This will be my first attempt at a 1/2 Ironman. As an added incentive, I signed up to raise money for Make-A-Wish New Hampshire.

Life is about appreciation.  Whether it's the wonders of nature or just the Sunday morning paper, people, myself included, take way too much for granted.  We have an expectation, a sense of entitlement of what life "should" be.  And when we don't get what we feel we deserve, we're offended, depressed, or angered.

But each day is a gift.  Something the children and families of Make-A-Wish New Hampshire know all too well.  And if G-d can grant me the strength to attempt - and hopefully finish - a 1/2 Ironman, then the least I can do is return the favor and give something back. GiveForward.

Orthodox Jews begin each morning - before even rising out of bed - with a prayer, referred to as, "Modeh Ani":  "I gratefully thank You,  Living and Eternal King, for having returned my soul within me with compassion. abundant is Your faithfulness"

Tonight, I signed up to raise $$ for Make-A-Wish New Hampshire. Tomorrow, I hope to say "Modeh Ani" with extra meaning.

And on August 22, 2010, I along with dozens of others, hope to grant wishes to those who truly know what it means to appreciate even a single day.

Thanks for your help
