The family of Lexi Kotani-Roberts are fighting to keep Lexi alive in her battle against her kidney failure... Please support Lexi Loo!

As of 4/7/11 Lexi's BUN is at 84 and Creatinine is at 10.3....

:(

Update: 4/2/11
Lexi seemed better this morning! :) she was lively and energetic again! However around 1pm she vomited 3 times..

I have to face the facts that her kidneys dont work, and are only going to get worse.. THe only thing to help her is a kidney transplant. But first we have to raise $30k... find a donor (a sibling/parent), Its a loooong shot but maybe its possible?

If anyone knows of pups born Mid-may 2010, sharpei terrier mix.. from breeder last name Vierra... Please contact me...

UPDATE : 4/1/11
Lexi and I went to the vet this morning after she vomited... Her BUN is 90 and Creatinine is 9.9... I'm so scared she's going to go... :( HEEEELLLLPPP!!!

I called Pet's Discount, but they offer no hope... No on e can help me... I feel so trapped and helpless...

THe only hope for recovery would be a kidney transplant...

No possible donors, the breeder hasn't contacted me yet... I would do anything for this dog... I'd give her my kidneys, i'd give her my life... Please Help us .. somebody...

Help Lexi Battle Kidney Failure...

History:
I was told by my therapist to get a dog for therapeutic reasons but I kept putting it off because my boyfriend didn't want a dog and animals weren't allowed on the property. Then one day in the end of June, I bought Lexi from Pet's Discount at Market City. It was love at first sight. Since dogs weren't allowed, I would keep Lexi with me until 11pm at night and then drop her off at my mom's in pearl city and pick her up at 430am. =) After a week or so, Sean (my boyfriend) gave in and Lexi became a part of our household!

On December 22, 2010 I took Lexi to the vet because she had thrown up at least once a day for three straight days. I requested a blood draw. BUN was 125 and Creatinine was at 3.7--Chronic Kidney Failure. :(

My vet prepped me for Lexi's death. I was so depressed and sad... I thought, "She is my life!" I did a bunch of research online and found medications and supplements that would help. Lexi stabilized but still remained in stage 3 kidney failure.

Then recently, Lexi began throwing up again. I took her in for a blood draw and her BUN was 119 and Creatinine was at 7.7. We hospitalized her for five days. There she received IV fluids to help flush her. After the fourth day, we checked her BUN and Creatinine. It was 66 and 8.8 respectively. :( Her Creatinine got worse.. Again the Vet told me that she doesn't know how long Lexi has because Lexi has surprised her already. Lexi is only 10 months old...

We have to give her many many supplements, a special diet, visit the vet weekly, give her subcutaneous fluids daily, acupuncture, herbs etc. It has been very costly to upkeep Lexi's health. But I'm going to do it somehow. She is lively and she deserves a chance.
Lexi is not suffering, she is very lively for a dog with this bad of blood chemistry. If you judge her by her appearance you would think that nothing is wrong and she is perfectly healthy. but, that just shows how much of a fighter Lexi is. she is alive and I need to give her a chance to live...

I've financed everything (vet visits, meds, supplements, x rays, ultrasound, UA, Bloodwork, food, acupuncture, herbs, fluids, etc) by myself for far more than my wallet can handle. I've maxed out my credit cards... I hate to ask for help but I really could use it. A little donation here and there can go a long way. Anybody who has a dog knows how much medical expenses can be. Please help Lexi battle kidney failure. Lets give her the chance that she was never given...

Anything will be greatly appreciated... And every good deed will not be forgotten...Please support Lexi... Aloha and Mahalo...
