                                         Why I want to LIVE...

June 14th:

I wanted to thank each and every one of you for the support you've given me over the past several months.  I will be closing this website down as we are in dire need of the funds and are close to losing our home.  Tho we have many mounting struggles ahead I did want to share that my bone marrow results showed NED, no evidence of disease and I am officially in remission for now!!!!!!!!!! Praise the Lord!!

 May 29th:

I wanted to send out an update. First and FOREMOST I wanted to thank all those who have donated. I know at this time of great economic hardship for everyone it's hard to justify giving to others but I want each and everyone of you to know that it will make a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE TO US!!

I will be going June 1st, Tuesday, for my biopsy.  We will have the results on June 14th and know what our next steps are on this horrible journey.  Please pray that the biopsy shows N.E.D. (no evidence of disease) this will give us more time to work on getting our affairs in order before the transplant.

If the biopsy shows any cancer at all I will be readmitted for high dose chemo and then sent to emory for the next phase of all of this....the bone marrow transplant.....Again thank you

April 29th:

I am in the hospital taking my final 5 day round of chemo.  I will be coming back at the end of May for a CT guided Bone Marrow Biopsy.  The results will determine our time frame for admission to Emory for the transplant.  I am hoping to stay home for Sarai's birthday in June but it looks like I could be headed that way right around the same time!!  My friends family and loved ones I am amazed and in awe at the continued support physically, spiritually, financially, and emotionally... and to those rare precious strangers who felt compelled to give, bless you we are now forever friends!

Acute Myelogenous Leukemia is a cancer of the blood and has a 20.7% 5 year survival rate with out a bone marrow transplant.  I was dignosed on December 23rd 2009 with AML.  I have been through 1 round of induction chemo and 3 rounds of consolidation chemo to a total of almost 80 days in the hospital in the last 3 months.

Before all of this began I had a 5 year battle with infertility and multiple miscarriages (4 to be exact).  After all the struggling and heartbreak losing baby after baby, I FINALLY had a healthy little girl in 2007.  She is 30 months old and my LIFE  I MUST get through this for her!  I lost my mom in 1998 to breast cancer when I was 22 and it has had a devistating effect on my life... I cannot allow myself to imagine leaving my daughter to grow up without a mom.

To date my hospital bills have risen over $300,000 (not including additional expences of medications and misc expences involved with extended stays in the hospital).  Eventhough I do have primary insurance there are several things not covered and several tests that need to be done to pave the way for a bone marrow transplant when the time comes.

Do to financial stresses that were present when I got sick (my husband being unemployeed due to the downfall of the housing market and me changing jobs 6 weeks before I was dignosed) we are unable to qualify for disability payments and for some really STUPID reason we have been unable to get state or federal assistance.

I know that millions of people are online posting their own stories requesting donations and what not......

but search your heart and if it is in there to donate please do, we can use all the help we can get and every little bit makes a huge difference.... the oceans begain with 1 rain drop!

God bless you all and please pass this on to friends and family
