This is the Papa John Cancer of the Esophagus Fund. Funds will be used for his medical costs and related expenses not covered by insurance.

Recently it was brought to my family's attention that my father (Papa John) was diagnosed with esophagus cancer - stage 2. For some time, Papa John was not able to digest or hold down food, we weren't sure why, but watched as my dad's weight decreased significanty. After the diagnosis and due to his weight loss and current condition the Dr.s recommended a by-pass surgery using a portion of his large intestine to connect the stomach to the healthy part of the esophagus. The result, Papa John was stable, but in critical condition.
I’m happy to report that John has been taking water down his “new pipes,” and will start on milk very soon. He is currently receiving a second treatment opinion from an oncologists in the United States, we are exploring treatment options. John had planned to pay for his surgery with his savings, but those costs doubled due the surgical complexity. Friends and family have loaned John funds to get out of the hospital so that he can recuperate at home. He will be needing funds for chemo therapy so that the cancer shrinks and after 6 months of chemo treatment the surgeon will perform another operation to try and remove the cancer this time around.
As John’s funds are limited, we are setting up a fund to help him cover his medical expenses. The fund will be managed by a third party with full accountability.
